Collages
A collection of some of the collages I have made over the years. This is one of my favourite mediums to work with and explore different ideas with.
Eddy Maelstrom
Eddy maelstrom is a short film about melancholy. This film takes you through a melancholic moment in all its pure and raw emotions.
A collection of 600 analogue collages, carefully curated, cut out and put behind each other, creates a whole new space that showcases how melancholy feels like through our eyes.
The progams used for this project are Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, Twinmotion and Adobe Première Pro.

Conversation Pit
Made with found materials and a lot of enthusiasm, this conversation pit serves as a space in which people can come together and share a moment or a drink.
This was an assignment given by De Koer, a cultural space based in Ghent.
A collaboration with Wolf Hemmen, Amanda Porters and Merel Strobbe

Design Museum
A scenography of thirteen objects from the collection of the Design Museum in Ghent. The objects come together in the theme ‘folding and bending’.
My design is based on the silhouettes of each object, showing how each object “bends” in its own way. The aluminium walls display each object on a bended surface that supports its own piece of furniture.
Because of this, my scenography invites visitors to explore, to get in contact with other visitors and really experience the objects surrounding them.
As for the materials, I would use steel (or aluminium) sheets of 2mm and engrave the horizontal stripes into it, to ensure optimal circulation.

- Photo inside the model with proposal of lighting
- Scale model of the existing circumstances, presented on a pedestal that embodies the same ideas as I would use for the pedestals to present the objects on in the exhebition
- Picture of the process of making the pedestal
- Possible route to follow while visiting the exhibition
- The same placing and route as picture 6, but presented in the scale model on scale 1/50
(Come) Together
For this assignment, I designed a space where a gentrified neighbourhood in Ghent could still find a way to bring all people together to do their own thing. A place where there was space to just be, to create and to talk about important conflicts going on in today’s society.
The wooden structures are made to divide the space according to the sun. During different times of the day, the shade of the sun divides the area in new ways. It’s an open “room”, with some divisions for privacy, some roofing to be protected against rain or heavy sun; but mainly with space to come together and just be.
The plans were drawn on Vectorworks, which I can fluently use.

Reading Lamp
This lamp is made with steel tubes and textile. Its idea is that the lamp can easily be taken apart and reassembled when needed. The textile gives the light a very warm en cosy glow. An important aspect of my design, is that the cord of the lamp is covered in textile, so it fits in the entire image. It’s a simple, yet elegant design that fits in many interiors.

Charred Cabin
An interpretation of the Charred Cabin by DRAA architects.
This project is a prototype on scale 1/20 of the Charred Cabin, with the intention of practicing both our analogue as well as our digital skills.
Plans were made with Vectorworks, the prototype has a cardboard base, finished with stained wood. For the staining we used a mineral wood oil for indoor use.

HavE a SeAt AnD LeTs pLaY
Toy or furniture? This is the question I posed while working on this chair. I wanted to create a chair that was not only something to sit on, but also something to play with. The whole idea was that the object could be used for different purposes and could be changed according to the customers own liking and style, ensuring it can stay in an interior for a long time.
A sustainable chair, made out of excess wood from other projects that can be used for multiple purposes , since you can change the setting in many different ways.
The different legs are connected to the middle piece with wood plugs; ensuring a child safe design and an easy disassembly.
A note on the projects: this is made with massive wood, which I would avoid in the future, since it makes the object quite heavy.
- Picture of the object in an interior; here it is combined with a small drawer that I refinished and restored myself
- Poster presenting the project and showing how it can be used by kids
- Assembly of the finished project, the poster and some of the materials used during the process. Including 3D-printed prototypes to try out the design
